Synopsis

''Ink Wash is a puzzle, a mature drama that rejects from the outset the histrionic hysterics we usually see in Romanian films – and replaces them with an accurate time of our society.''

,,Tsorakidis lays bare a character who discovers her inner strength and moral values in a country overwhelmed by corruption and, in doing so, paves an uncharted path for people who understand that the only way out of the woods is to go through.‘‘

,,An alumna of Bucharest’s National University of Theatre and Film, Tsorakidis has previously directed two shorts that have been well received internationally. The first was Ivy (2018), which told the story of a young woman trapped inside a very toxic friendship that ends up destroying her love life, whilst the second was Kaimos (2020), about a middle-aged woman who returns to her native country after many years of living abroad.‘‘

,,Ink Wash accumulates into a powerful drama that yearns for a nation to find its footing, and sympathizes with those who have to make the hard choice to leave it.‘‘
