The wait is over and we can finally make the public announcement and the joy of taking part in the 68th edition of the San Francisco International Film Festival.
The debut feature film by director Sarra Tsorakidis had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2024 and then continued its journey to several festivals (Thessaloniki, Warsaw, Mannheim, Adelaide).
The festival journey so far has given rise to opinions and reviews that have highlighted the subtlety of feelings and the powerful expressiveness that nature can have, aspects that are outlined by the director with fine attention to detail and a love for the environment.
Lena (Ilinca Hărnuț), a painter who earns her money from murals, is in a very vulnerable moment in her life. She turns 40 and is single again, after years spent in a relationship that has just ended. Disappointed and heartbroken, she takes refuge in work, painting the walls of a brutalist hotel surrounded by forests in southwestern Romania. Isolated in the middle of nature, Lena is forced to discover her inner strength and moral values in a country overwhelmed by corruption.
